Osceola is one of two county seats for Mississippi County; Blytheville is also a county seat and has its own courthouse.
Designed by John Gainsford, the Osceola courthouse was built in 1912 and restored in 1991. The brick and stone Mississippi County Courthouse, a Beaux Arts structure, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
