Originally designed by J.C. Breeding and constructed in 1884 as a Italianate structure, the Carrizo Springs courthouse was remodeled by Henry T. Phelps in 1926 into the Classical Revival structure which stands today.
The Dimmit County Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Texas Historic Landmark.
