Designed by Elmer G. Withers, the Anson courthouse was constructed between 1910 and 1911.
The Jones County Courthouse, a Beaux-Arts structure built with Pecos red sandstone and brick, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Texas Historic Landmark.
