Designed by Henry T. Phelps, the Cotulla courthouse was built in 1931 and rededicated in 2013 after restoration efforts funded by the Texas Historical Commission.

The brick La Salle County Courthouse, a Moderne structure and the fourth courthouse to serve La Salle County, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Texas Historic Landmark.
