Designed by Eugene T. Heiner, the Hallettsville courthouse was completed in 1899.
The Lavaca County Courthouse, a Richardsonian Romanesque structure and the county’s fifth courthouse, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Texas Historic Landmark.
