The Montpelier courthouse, designed by B.F. Walker, was constructed in 1880 after a fire destroyed the 1844 courthouse.
The Washington County Courthouse, a brick Greek Revival structure, is part of the Montpelier Historic District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
