The King William courthouse was constructed in 1725. The brick Georgian courthouse is the oldest courthouse in continuous use in the United States, although many judicial functions have been moved to a newer courthouse built upon courthouse grounds in 2004.
The King William County Courthouse, also the oldest public building still in use in Virginia, is a National Historic Landmark.
