The Mason County Courthouse, in Mason, Texas, has reopened this month after a fire caused by arson almost completely destroyed the historic building in February 2021.
The reconstruction of the National Register Of Historic Places property remained faithful to the original design of the building. Designed by E.H. Hosford And Co., the Beaux-Arts structure opened in 1909.
The reconstruction cost around $20 million, though most of that was paid for by the state and by insurance.
The arsonist, Nicholas Miller, was convicted and sentenced to 75 years in prison earlier this year.
