The Otero County Commission has approved the construction of a new courthouse, to be located on the outskirts of the county seat of Alamogordo, New Mexico.
The county has signed a contract with ASA Architects, from Las Cruces, to serve as the lead architect for the project, which is estimated to cost up to $30 million.
The project was approved in April 2024. The timeline for construction and completion is still to be determined.
The current Alamogordo courthouse was designed by Wolgamood And Millington and was was built in 1955.
