Renovation work has begun on the exterior of the Bergen County Courthouse in Hackensack, New Jersey.
Hall Construction is in charge of the renovations to the Hackensack courthouse. The renovations are estimated to cost $6.9 million.
The renovations to the exterior to the Bergen County Courthouse are scheduled to be completed in 2025. Bergen County hopes to begin renovations to the interior of the courthouse that same spring.
Designed by famed architect J. Riely Gordon (who is most often associated with the many historic Texas courthouses he designed), the Hackensack courthouse was constructed between 1909 and 1912. The Bergen County Courthouse, part of the Bergen County Justice Center, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the New Jersey Register of Historic Places.
