Designed by Perrin Fox and built in 1854, the Mariposa courthouse, a Greek Revival structure, is the oldest in California and possibly the oldest in continuous use west of the Mississippi. The Mariposa County Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a California Historic Landmark.
