Designed by Preston M. Geren, the Palo Pinto courthouse was completed in 1940. The sandstone Palo Pinto County Courthouse, a Texas Renaissance structure and the third courthouse to serve the county, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Texas Historic Landmark.
