Photos of many additional buildings have been added to the album of Virginia courthouses. Over 400 new images have been added to Capitolshots with these courthouses, all of which were taken in April 2024.
These courthouses are primarily but not exclusively in the south and southeastern parts of the state. Images of 90 courthouses, past and present, are now included in the Capitolshots collection of images of Virginia courthouses.
Several surviving 18th century structures are included with the most recent batch of photos, including the Historic Charles City Courthouse in Charles City (seen here), the Historic Mathews County Courthouse in Mathews, and the Old Northampton County Courthouse in Eastville.
Also included in the collection are images of several courthouses which serve independent cities in Virginia. Virginia has a number of such cities which are independent of county jurisdiction. The buildings include the Alexandria City Courthouse and the Suffolk Courts Building.
