Straddling the state line between Texas and Arkansas, the structure is the only federal building in the country located in two states. The Texas half of the building serves the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, and the Arkansas half serves the United States District Court for the Western District of Arkansas. The Texarkana courthouse, a Beaux-Arts structure, was designed by Witt, Seibert And Halsey and Perkins, Chatten And Hammond. The federal courthouse, completed in 1933, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is a Texas Historic Landmark.

An additional expansion in the 2000s was designed by WER Architects. The federal courthouse serves the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas. Renamed for Arnold in 2003, the courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Moderne structure served as a federal courthouse, housing judges from the United States District Court for the Central District of California, until a new federal courthouse opened in 2016. The Spring Street Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Originally constructed in 1920 as the Vista del Arroyo Hotel And Bungalows, the Spanish Colonial Revival building served as an army hospital during World War II. The building remained in federal use after the war, eventually being converted to a federal courthouse to serve as the southern seat for the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals in the 1980s. Designed by Marston And Van Pelt, the Pasadena courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
