Designed by Bakewell And Brown and completed in 1927, the building incorporates features of both Mediterranean Revival and Spanish Colonial Revival architecture. The building underwent extensive renovations between 2004 and 2007. Pasadena City Hall is part of the Pasadena Civic Center District, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
